Theresa... I just watched the whole thing. It was mesmerizing. Evereything is so beautiful. I loved that Datura. Keep up the good work, and thanks for sharing.

Thank you, Bob! My pleasure! That Datura does look good in the photo. I wasn't impressed with it. It grew 6'w X 5'tall with tiny little flowers and very little fragrance. I wanna see some different ones this year.

Bob, I like foliage as well as the next guy, but I wasn't impressed. With such limited growing space and so many plants to try, I'm movin' on! LOL Of course, the one million seeds that dropped in the garden still have a chance!:)

Excellent Theresa! Every time I see that variegated KMOTGG, I think it's an EE instead!

Your fish are very nice. I like my ponds.
    What size do you have?

Beautiful! How did you winter sow them? Just sprinkle them on the ground? I like that kind, lol.

Theresa, "Milk Jugs-Topless"??!! Had to go back to the slide to see if I had missed that label before, LOL!

El, I knew somebody would catch that!LMAO That's the term used by WS gardeners after the tops are taken off seedlings in tne Spring! They are hardened off and ready to be planted!

    Theresa

rofl ...I wish I would have saved all those tops from the milk jugs. :-( NOW that I know you need them to wintersow grrrr. Got milk? lol...ready to go help myself to some right now. After all I got LOTS of seeds ha ha ha

Kylie trust me I know what you are going through. I hope one day technology will be able to give you faster internet connection also!

Theresa I am getting ready to start my winter sowing but I have one question for you. Do you winter sow your KMOGG? or how and when do you start it?

    Mary

Mary hi. I am sitting here looking up what to do with all the seeds and what they are. KMOGG is one that you can wintersow :-) Because you wintersow them, there is nothing else you need to do to them.

Theresa is that correct? Been at it for hours lol and might be confused already ha ha ha ha

    Good luck Mary

I sowed some seeds yesterday but used a sowing tray instead of topless, milk jugs, LOL! I planted seeds of adeniums (Barb), Bhut Kolokia pepper (ebay), datura Fleur de Lilac (Carmen), and Impatiens Balsamina and papaver somniferum (Josh). Hope they make it and that I didn't sow too early or too late.

Check out the FAQ's on the Winter Sowing forum here:
    http://faq.gardenweb.com/faq/wtrsow/

Perennials and hardy annuals(ones that reseed themselves) are good to sow now.Tender annuals & some veggies, should be sown closer to spring. This is only my 2nd yr. WSing. I didn't think my success was that great, but looking back through the pics of my gardens & all the failures starting those seeds indoors,I'd say WSing wins out.
Here's the link to the website. I think you will be excited to try it!
Mary, I forget exactly what I did with the KMOTGG,but I'm pretty sure I WSed it.It seseeds itself. I would go ahead and do it now.

Thanks Theresa I have been reading a a lot about winter sowing the last few weeks and I had found just about everything but the KMOGG. I plant to get started this week just as soon as I get finished painting my daughters room, it is going very slow!!!

I tried a few trays last year but have trouble finding a spot that the dogs can't get to or the wind doesn't blow them across town. Maybe that will be a good use for the greenhouse until its completed I can still winter sow inside without heat. I could put a few things on the front porch too. Hmmm, might have to start some seeds tomorrow, lol.

Great slide show and I love the way you have the entire yard filled with flowers.

    Mary,
I'm glad you are almost finished painting! I have to do my bedroom!UGH!It's so hard to get started. I'm looking at my Xmas tree, that needs to be taken down.

    Kristy,
Sounds like great plan! Why not try it!

    Karyn,
My hubby hated the yard. He said it looked like a jungle. It was a little out of control, only because that was my first year with all those brugs.I didn't know what to expect. They got huge in the ground. I'm not letting them do that again!LOL The cleome reseed themselves every year. I'm gonna try to add more colors.

Kristy Kristy....you can bring your wintersowing stuff over to my house!! :-)

Theresa I got to do the hole house lol. Is there a Pedro who does inside jobs? lol

You live and learn Theresa. That is why I had to dig out the EE. They were just not in the right place. It is hard to see how things will look. Especially if I have no idea about the plants characteristics etc.

But I love every minute of it!
