hello!

My vriesea splendens finished flowering around february (it's a houseplant). I let the flower stalk get pretty haggard, then snipped it off near the base. I keep waiting for my pup to come along... instead, more new leaves are coming out of the central vase. They look beautiful and healthy! I'm stumped. After so many months, should the plant be declining, and should I be seeing a pup?
