I don't grow Hohenbergias myself as they're in short supply around here, but are their cultural requirements similar to Aechmeas or are they something different?

H. leopoldo-horstii is about as tough as they come. Basically, your assessment of treating them as you grow your Aechmeas would be just about right. I've got a couple pictures of a plant growing at our local botanic gardens. (The pup came from my collection) It's inside the greenhouse on a hot, sunny, terrace location.

H. correia-araujoi is a pretty tough plant as well, though I treat it as a bit more cold sensitive.
