I don't think it's recurvata or benrathii either but more probably a hybrid with either one as a parent.

I have a hybrid of Ae. recurvata x bromeliifolia (pic's 4 & 5) which has some similarities although quite a bit taller (about 16" to the top of the flower)

It looks like A. Suenos - a hybrid that is flowering for me now as well.

I have a bunch of recurvata forms, and it doesn't really resemble any of them in the shape of the plant.

Definitely a hybrid. Ae. Sueños comes to mind, but there are other similar ones too. Check the FCBS database below. Karamea Topsy does seem like a close match.
