Still trying to ID the Aloe!

My pic site is full and didn't want to delete a photo to add this one, so here's a photo of my A. nobilis next to my mystery Aloe (nobilis on the left...) There's quite a difference in size. Nobilis' leaves are quite wide and smooth on top, a little flattened out. The mystery Aloe's leaves are plump, narrow, with some not-sharp bumps on top. Both are toothy.

Any other ideas?

I believe this is an Aloe aristata.....

My Dear Denise,

It's got that fat leaf look, doesn't it? From dredging the sand banks of my memory, the other one that I can think of is A. meyeri (sp?)., but it's not quite like the meyeri that I have had.

OTOH, it could be a hybrid. Is there some sort of A. 'Crosby's Compact', or am I confusing my genera?

Soon you'll get the large orange blooms because this is what I have all over different areas of my gardens and in a couple of large pots. One new transplant of three large plants is under a patio cover and the plant is shades of red and is amazing. Still maybe your Noblis name is the answer because I'm not good with names just know how healthy and all the suckers this has..
