Do you need seed, when the onion body is forming all those "fetuses"? lol. I always planted the babies, but I can understand someone might want to experiment with seeds.

Unless you're thinking about going into the business that one plant gives you so many babies that you won't know what to do qith. The seeds which I've thrown in the garden when they dry just never make into new plants
