Nice plant!

I have one in the yard in full sun, and during the brightest hottest part of the summer the leaves get a bit yellowish and stressed looking. But I rarely ever water or fertilize my plants in the ground here, so I suspect that may be part of the problem...

A couple months ago I moved it into my newest bed which has some good oak leaf compost, plenty of lime, and a good helping of bone meal, and it has not looked stressed at all even though it was dug up and transplanted in the middle of summer, and is in an even sunnier spot than before. It has had a fair amount of rain this month also... This one has been in the ground for a total 3 or 4 years now, and is just over 3 feet or about a meter wide.

Peyton, that is a beaut that you have there too. I must say that your Aloe vanbalenii looks terrific! It has been so hot in the desert this year that by the time August rolled around some of my plants started to show sign of stress, and my vanbalenii was one of them. But, with the night temps starting to drop down, some new soil, regular watering, it is now starting to come back strong. Keep posting the progress of your new bed I love seeing your plants.

Even in Florida, this species prefers a few hours of sun and shade the rest of the day.
