I just realized I never posted any pics from our trip to the Myrtles Plantation in my home town last month. Here are a couple. It is a really beautiful place.

Mineral Wells is the "BIG" town close and they have the Baker Hotel which closed now but suppose to be Haunted .. It was Famous yrs. ago and I think they still give tours.. I haven't ever been there but drive past it alot and wish walls could talk...LOL

It is beautiful, look like something from the movie. Is it really haunted?

I used to know the names but don't remember anymore. There were quite a few people including children and slaves and an owner that got killed there. I worked there as a teenager one summer and we tried to refinish the stair case and there was a dark spot at the bottom that we could never get out and they said it was a blood stain and even when those boards were replaced it reappeared. Don't know if it was true or not but it scared the crap out of me. A friend of mine did some repair on the roof and swore the maid that had her ear cut off for eavesdropping appeared before him and he quit, lol. He would turn white just talking about it.

Yes, it is. Its been on tv quite a bit. Its located in St.Francisville, Louisiana 70775 you can look it up if you like. I have more pics I will post later. I have to go to bed but it is a fabulous place and they have a great brunch there too.

I think I saw the story on this house on the tv sometime ago. Is it about a maid poison the children and their parent with oleander flower? Christy, did you stay there overnight on your last visit? I just love ghost stories.

It's a beautiful home. I don't believe in any of that supernatural stuff.

What a cool house. I can't even watch those ghost story shows on TV, I get too freaked out. I don't really believe in this stuff but I still get freaked out. Those trees in front of the house are interesting.

Oh I love ghost stories. I grew up in a 1920's bungalow and we could hear old fashioned music playing in one of the bedrooms then a glass crash periodically. My parents never talked about it until one of us kids said someting about it one day. Every member of my family heard it at some point. My family lived in the house for about 30 years.

No I have never spent the night there. Too chicken. I never have seen anything but I know a lot of people who have and they aren't the kind of people that believe in that kind of stuff either so it made me believe it. I will post a few more pics when I get home tonight. The grounds are lovely and the inside too. We just stopped and ate lunch so I could show my husband. He had never seen a plantation and this was the only one that you can drive all the way and get out and look around without paying, lol. You just have to pay for the tour inside the house so we just took some pics thru the window. He kept looking for open fields and wanting to know where they plant stuff. I told him all the fields have grown into woods by now since they haven't grown anything in so many years. He was disappointed, lol. I will post a pic of the huge azaleas at the one down the road from this one too. Everyone takes the kids to take Easter pics there every year.

Oh common Karyn, you got to believing ghost; just think, when we die we can come back and slap whoever does not take good care of your flowers :)

Hong, your too funny. I've told my family I'll come back and haunt them if they don't take care of my stuff. But I don't believe in it either. But I do believe in evil and the devil....so go figure.

I definitely believe in evil. I have seen some people that are just pure evil. Its scarry. I did see a ghost once when I was about 10 years old and thought I might have had a nightmare but the girls parents that I had spent the night with said that many other people had seen the same figure of a guy with a tall black hat on the balcony where I saw it. I never spent the night with her again. That house was over a hundred years old.

Christy, have you ever consider to be an photographer? You have a talent in taking picture. These pictures are beautiful shots. I love the trees, good tree for a tree house, and the house is gorgeous. The place makes me think of a fairy tale story " the frog prince". I wouldn't mind to share a house like that with some ghost :)

Thanks Marian for think I am funny :) I do crack joke and play prank a lot, I like to make people smile. I have not met any evil person "knock on wood" only couple of nasty people, like the guy with the horse trailer. Most of the people I met are very nice like you guys, and I have never see a ghost before neither; althought, the ghost idea sound romantic, like an Ann Rice novel. I guess am pretty shelter.

Hong, I think you are funny too, lol. I do love taking pictures so hubby got me this good camera for Christmas last year and I love the digital since you never run out of film, lol. You should have seen me the whole trip taking pics out the window going down the highway, lol.

Kristy, so last year you were a Japanese tourist ;) Just a joke! My husband often call me the "Japanese tourist", whenever I whip out my camera.

Lol, yes I guess I was. My husband kept saying enough already and got tired of stopping so I was whipping my head around like the exorcist trying to catch of shot of something I saw before we passed it all the way, lol.

Wow, that is beautiful! Look at that porch!!!!
    Awesome!
    Thanks for sharing Kristy.
