I'm affraid that the special pink shade is caused by my camera. For some reason it does not picture the pink collor correctly.
How is it going with your old ario's? Are they flowering yet?

I just planted my first Ariocarpus seed in a shallow ceramic pot saucer with the correct mix and covered it with a plastic clear bag. Then placed it in a bright room.I HOPE they sprout.

My ario's are really ahead of scedule this year. I don't know what's up. BTW, I will post some more pics later today. I had over 20 new flowers that opened today.

Jordi and I were talking the other day that we both noticed/concurred the Ariocarpi here were going off sort of early this year, but with a little santanna (hot winds from the east) influence for a couple days, most spp. have suddenly stopped flowering. Perhaps this explains the paucity of flowers for Alex over in the hotter desert region? Interesting that cooler temps seem to be such an important requirement for these plants to flower, I had never really noticed such a punctuated response before.
