thongs???!!!????

Okay, I'm not a prude by any stretch of the imagination, but I do not find thongs on men particularly attractive - so why must I be subjected to them in an advert at the top of this page??? Anyone else see it?

Sheesh...............don't much care for the changes going on here - started to get all kinds of spam 2 weeks ago, emailed to opt out of sharing personal info from this site, and it stopped. I went to my personal info page after that, thinking I would make sure I clicked the opt out option there also and noticed that they would not update my page unless I gave them all kinds of personal info that I never had to give when I joined up here years ago - so I didn't update - anyone else notice that?

You most likely have spyware/adware on your computer. Some will replace banner ads with something other than what should be there. Download and run SpyBot to get rid of it.

Oh yea, I saw the thongs alright. I was so excited I clicked on it to see more.
But, damn it, nothing came up.

It showed a very healthy male body, in 3 pictures, wearing 3 different thongs (front view) - looked like Speedos actually - and the ad wanted you to click on the one that looked the funniest. I thought they all looked great, though one did have a picture of fruit, including grapes, on it. Wish I saw that on the beach. Anyway, it was an ad for a certain American television station that's trying to find out what people consider funny.

Like I said before, I clicked on the fruity thong and couldn't get through to the site.

Sigh.

Guess I gotta keep on thinking about winter-sowing.

Well, I am glad I am not the only one who saw them!
No I don't have spyware - I keep an eye on that.

I apologize to all of you who didn't see them for making you aware that you missed them and spoiling your day :) :)

Perhaps there should be a chat feature on this board so we could instantly message each other when something like this comes up again :D :D :D

Yep, Mozilla doth indeed ROCK! I stay away from Internet Exploder, won't go near it without a doberman and a strong magnetic field.

Give Opera a try too (www.opera.com). There's an option to view only "ads that pertain to you", so to speak, where they give you plain-text messages according to your surfing habits. For example, I was hunting for white Coneflowers, and the ads were all from seed-sellers, herb stores, herb-recipe places, etc.

(and yeah...I missed the thong, too....)

Cheers,
- Merri
