the foliage and blooms might resemble C. Marabout, however, C. Marabout is very tall, where as the Robert Kemp is medium hieght canna. I will have to wait until you have a pic.

thanks for your reply zitro joe. it sure does look like c. marabout. my recollection when i dug these up at the nursery they were perhaps a bit taller than the c. robert kemp nearby, but not by much.

Well my Rober Kemp is a completely different color from yours Joe. In fact I have two about six foot apart that are different colors. I thought it was from one getting more sun than the other. I will try to post them. This is the first year for mine and they are barely two feet tall so far.

skygardening, those are my plants pictured. joe was kind enough to post the pix for me. when they rebloom i will take a few more pix, this time in the shade. the sun was very intense that day. i will hopefully have my red robert kemp in bloom also and can post a side by side comparison.

Well as you can see from sky's pictures, her Robert Kemps' are two different, but simular colors. I am no expert on cannas but maybe it is in fact a Robert Kemp with orange'ish blooms. Maybe the second round of flowers will tell us more.
