I nicked, soaked, and sowed seeds on 4/3. Today all seeds are up and growing.

Hi Laura,
I sew C. indica and all seeds came up, mighty fine. So I did them in their individual pot, always in the glasshouse without frost and begun to water them, just a little bit. What a pity! they all died one after another. So the others I let them in their seed-bed and gave them no water more. But they died, too. No luck with my first Canna-seed!

how do you plant the canna seed? is it the white part on top or at the bottom of the soil? what comes out of the white part, root or shoot? thanks!

root (radicle) comes out first.. you can sow seeds in any direction the root will makes its way downwards..
