If they are not out of the ground long, the foliage probably won't die back. I moved mine in 100 degree weather once. They were out of the ground in the heat for a while since I had a lot to transplant. All the foliage died back to the ground and re spouted in less than two weeks and bloomed shortly after. I can't remember how long it took them to bloom. If frost is coming soon, they might not have time to bloom.

I have moved them when it was less hot (90 degrees) and got them in the ground quicker without any die back. I now try to cover the roots with a blanket or something if moving more than a few plants to keep the heat off the roots. I think the soil microbes is what gets killed when exposed to the sun. Once beneficial soil microbes build back up, they plants can grow again.
