Have you collected actual seeds--big fat round seeds? Or are you talking about seed pods? All cannas make seed pods, but the sterile cannas only make empty seed pods. Fertile cannas make big fat black seeds in the pods. I don't know about Dawn Pink, but it's a hybrid so the seeds won't come true. If you collected seeds, they'll germinate with some scarifying. But you probably won't get another Dawn Pink--maybe something similar, or maybe something a different color even.

The seeds are very hard, so to get them to germinate, you can put the seed in a vice and then drill into the seed just a bit, just until you see some of the white inside. Then soak it a day or two and sow it. Good luck.

I collected the seed already and they are big and fat. I have germinated before by sanding and soaking.

I guess I will find out next year what they will mature into although I don't know if they will grow large enough the first season in my zone (5) the flower.
