In 1994 I gave my mother inlaw some cannas from my garden these had red leaves & large red blooms not sure of variety.

Anyways She recently gave me some to restart after a move. I was so excited to have some back because they are hard to find here for some reason. However when they bloomed the leaves were still red but the blooms were orange strange! I'm not sure what happened Mother inlaw had no other cannas so I doubt cross pollenation or mixing of varieties. I still like these but wondering what happened to the red bloom?
