reblooming

I realize these are a lot of questions but I have never been around growing canas. I see that the ones around here are just past peak bloom. I'm wondering which ones(cultivars) will or won't, and how they go about reblooming. Do they form a new flower stalk out of the same location of the previous one,or does it send up side branches from lower leaf nodes? Does cutting off the old flower head even if there are no seeds help and how long does it take to rebloom? What kind of show do they have the second time around?

I imagine sun and fertilizer help but how soon can you fertilize a transplant? Can a recent transplant have a chance of reblooming this year?

Thanks a bunch, M
