I was out of town for a month last year and my Stuttgart was blown over by strong winds and rain. The stem that was laying in a bog of dirt and water developed thick numbs not a usual root type. I broke it off and stuck it in the bog area it was growing and it grew. It helped to double my plant That stem took off grew into quite a large plant.

So I would put it in a pot with no drainage water until the soil is really wet and do not let the soil dry until you see it setting new leaves.
