Please settle this ....

Ok, I live in zone 7 and my Mother-In-Law lives in zone 8.

She says, I can dig and replant my Cannas now. I say ,wait till spring.

Which is correct. Will it hurt the Cannas if I do move them now (before November)?

I totally agree with your MIL. They still have plenty of time to set before cold weather. I moved several last week & had some 'President' ordered that I planted just last week also. Betty

I think it would depend on how cold it gets by you in November. If below 50 degrees I would wait until Spring.

Thank you both ,I think I will go ahead and replant some and hope for the best.

You should be able to move them without any problem. And if you plant them in soil that is a little bit more sandy than usual, it will drain better in the winter and not freeze and rot your rhizomes. A good sunny, well-drained spot should be perfect for them to survive thru winter.
