You should plant them somewhere between 1/4 to 1/2 inch deep. With the right conditions they should start to develope with in a few days to a week. Keep the soil moist but not WET. Good Luck and I hope this helps some.

Hi John, Good for you to plant canna seeds! I too planted some Tropical Rose seeds. I got mine off Ebay, is this where you got yours? Anyway, TR is a beautiful canna and one of the few cannas that grow true from seed. I also purchased some Trop Yellow from the same place. I haven't started them yet, getting too late in the season. I'll have to wait til spring. Good luck with your seeds. Once they poke through the ground, you'll be amazed how fast they grow. Will you be using a grow light on them?

Hi Chinagrove, Thank's for the inspiration.Yes I got my TR seeds on Ebay also.I will not use a grow light on them as I have them in pots so when the weather get's cold,I'm in zone 8 I will bring them in and put by a window for sun and light.How are your TR seed doing did they come up yet and how long did it take for them to break ground? Does it make a difference if you plant the seeds with the nick side up or down, do you know? Thanks in addvance.
