I am almost never awake this late..its almost 1am..there is something in my wall next to my bed. ON MY SIDE!!! DH thinks I'm crazy..he said "O its gonna jump right out of the wall at you" smart @$$, makin fun of me. He just keeps going back to sleep. something is IN there!!!!!

Whatever it is has claws..I hear nails, not pads..

Its driving me insane..every time I wake him up it stops making noise. I cant sleep like this!!

No, we dont have any small pets that could have escaped..they're all dead...whatever it is...it's wild. omg I just heard more nails clicking in the attic..wtf??? they're everywhere!!!!

I wonder what they are..I dont think squirrels are active at night, or are they? OMG I am getting traps up there first thing tomorrow morning. Too small to be raccoons..omg, unless its a bunch of babies! o for cryin out loud...

I'm not freaking out, I just cant sleep with all this clickety clackety, bumps and thumps...right next to my head. OMG..I swear I was just frozen with fear..I have never heard a noise like that..I feel like I'm 5..I'm gonna sleep with the light on. yeah, now I'm freakin & waking up DH..LIGHTS ON!!!!!!!!!

It sucks to stay up wondering what is in there. We have had red squirrels & chipmunks get in over the years. They really chew stuff. Banging on the wall does no good, they know you can't touch them. The squirrels with the black walnuts were the worst. You'd hear bump bump thump as it crawled inside the wall wile carrying the nut & banging it against the wall as it went. It would get almost to the top & drop it. Clack clack clack as it fell back down & then toenails scrambling back down & then it would start again with the bump bump thump again. sometimes it would take 4 or 5 tries before it got all the wlay up. By 4 or 5 am, I was cheering the little sucker on. Get the nuts put away & get it over with so I can get some sleep. I played loud music all day in hopes of at least annoying it while it tried to sleep. Hope you find it & get rid of it quick.

thanks Linda..I'm getting a trap up there in a bit. Hope they didnt chew a hole through the roof, we just had the roof done last summer! lil rat b@$t@*%$.
whatever it is..I WILL get it or them. That noise I heard the one in the wall next to me make was scary!! Almost like a low deep growl, but not. I hope it isn't a raccoon and babies.
lol..the nut thing would drive me crazy! lol! Our neighbors behind us have a black walnut tree, the squirrels always bury them in my gardens and pots..I pulled so many seedlings this spring, cursed the lil boogers every time. So annoying to hear those things drop too..you'd think someone was out there hitting stuff w/a baseball bat.

    Dude...

I have rats in the attic! Had someone at the house, doing some work, and he just happened to see a rat scurrying up the A/C line cover, to the attic. If there's one... well, you get it. Not sure what to do. Maybe just get the exterminator over here. At least I can't hear them growling and clawing, while I'm trying to sleep. Tell hubby to man-up and take care of that, for his loving wife.

I'm sorry you have critters too..and rats to boot! eeks! I hope you can get them under control and out of there asap. Is Laura freakin?

omg I hope mine arent rats..i can deal with coons, squirrels, opossums..but I dont know about rats..

yeah, the clickety clackety I coulda dealt with..but that weird growly noise..freeeeaakkyyy!!! I have NEVER been frozen in fear b4 till then..literally could not move. o man I got goosebumps just thinkin about it.

lol thanks Pam!! I'm gathering the courage to do this right now..........

So, did you put a trap up there yet? Hopefully, you'll get some sleep tonite!

Are you sleeping Daniella? I'm not. I just woke up to the lovely aroma of skunk (choke). It smells like a dozen of them hanging around & having a party under my bedroom window (cough). At least they are quiet (gag). LOL

    Linda

O Linda, I'm sorry, but I am lmao! Probably a whole family..I got trapped in a tent once by about a dozen or so. I had to pee soooo bad and couldnt get out for awhile cuz they were just partying. I didnt even have a cup to pee in, lmao. They were so cute tho.
At least they didnt spray you! or any of the kids!

I slept good last night. Def caught up on the sleep I missed the night b4. 3 traps set up in the attic yesterday. I just woke up 5 mins ago, so they havent been checked yet, but I think if any had been set off, it would have woken me up? The anticipation of catching whatever is up there, wouldnt have let me sleep through it.

I will keep you all updated on if I catch anything.

Bob, whats goin on with your critters?

Got stuff to plug up the entry hole, and some snap traps... I'll do everything today. Can't wait to hear what you've got up there. What kind of traps are you using?

I've got live traps Bob. 2 big ones and a smaller one. I was gonna do it but DH decided he would, he used various things for bait since we dont know what it is. He thinks its a raccoon. I dont think so though. There would be signs of him/her by the pond. And there havent been any. Whatever it is is small enough to go up and down inside my wall, so either its something with babies, or just smaller critters.
nothing in the traps his morn. He used PB on bread, and chicken legs??? what does he think is up there? lmao. I wanted to use cat food, dog food, and nutty fruity cereal.
Great now I'm gonna have meat getting all hot and rotten up there today....EEEWWWWWW!
He'd better freshen up the bait today!
I found the entry hole out front..we need to block that up asap!!
snap traps..ewww!! lol!!! popped out eyeballs! chewed off legs & tails!! ew ew ew! lmao

They were under my window. Literally. I found out what happened this am. DS (D for dumb) came home shortly before I smelled them. He said there were 2 of them in the front yard & when he came in he didn't close the patio door on the front porch (why?). Left it wide open for them to come up on the porch & check out the quail cage & the metal trash can with the cat, dog & quail food inside. When I went back to bed, I found the open door & closed it (nothing like locking the barn door after the horse is gone). They couldn't get into the can but they did tear open a small bag of trash. Nothing left but a very slight skunk smell. I'm glad the dogs slept through it & didn't bark. Wouldn't want to scare them!

    Didja check yet?

Daniella same thing happened to me once, my ex thought I was crazy I kept hearing things at night. Scratching, scurrying, you name it I could hear it. I think it is the mom in us, the radar is always on. Well anyways mine ended up being mice, the exterminator came and put some bait in my attic and that did the trick!

    Mary

I agree Mary, I was thinking the same thing, that it's the mom in us.

Linda, Nothin yet..I havent heard any more noises either. The cat caught something last night right outside the back porch..I dont know what it was but man was it screaming alot.

lol..I bet DS got an earful eh? I agree, you're lucky the dogs didnt wake up, o man..tomato baths for everyone, lol.

My neighbor's DD kept hearing a noise in her walls beginning around dusk. We were in the backyard and happened to see bats fly out from under their siding, all 119 of them!!!!!! The county wouldn't allow them to do anything to get rid of them until after their nesting season had ended. Evidently they are protected in this area. I love bats and like having them around to eat all the bugs but I sure as **** don't want them living and pooping in my house, ICK. That can't be sanitary.

lol Karyn..omg I cant even imagine all that bat poop!! Hey, ya could have scraped up all that guano for your garden, lol!!!
Did she freak when she saw it was bats??
In our house when I was younger, the attic had been made redone and made into a bedroom for my brother. One morning he couldnt get his foot into his sneaker..something was in it, found a fruit bat in his sneaker b4 school..He kept it as a pet for a couple weeks or so, then let it go. It was the cutest thing. We never had another one, but our neighbor's house had them all in the attic, we'd watch them fly out every night and feed. I guess when my brother let the little guy go, he went home to the neighbor's house.

Still nothing in my attic..not even one noise. If we dont catch anything DH will really be calling me crazy, and I wil start wondering myself if I am, lol. He said he's gonna change the bait today to something for squirrels.

Bob, are you having better luck than I am?

Daniella it has been a few days since your last post...any news? If not and the noise is gone...I am so happy for you!!

I have the same hubby. When I hear noises, he used to turn around and say it is nothing. After all these years, I know he is scared roflmao.

A baby tarantula got lost between the window and the screen by the garage door. He closed it and now he is not even using the door and was all upset when I opened the window so it could escape lol
