I've used the seed-starting mix and it was pretty good. I did have some grass germinate in something that had to be inside for a few weeks before going out and they were supposed to replace the bag for me but never did. Other than that, no problems.

You probably got a lemon bag. Last year I did so much indoor and winter sowing, I ended up buying whatever I could get, mostly Schultz and Miracle-Gro, and I got some good bags and some horrible bags of each brand. As I recall, Miracle Gro on average was worse than Schultz for having big sticks and bark, and I even had two bags that were full of white mold when I opened them. I remembered to buy two bales of Sunshine #4 this fall... I wish it was available in the winter when we need it!

We were supposed to get bales of potting soil through the local hort. club last fall, but it didn't happen. I used a lot of that for seed starting last year, both indoors and out. I'm going to miss it this year for sure, especially when i have to buy bag after bag of it at Walmart!
