Update to WSing Toms. Experiment

This message is also posted on the mother forum

Earlier this year I decided to try to get WS tomatoes in Zone 5, since I hate hardening off. My first experiment was to WS tomatoes according to Vera's schedule, and I sowed seed on March 27. No sprouts so far. The second experiment, with I am doing with one other member of this forum involved using an old insulated cooler covered with an old window. These were sown on April 1 (in styrofoam cups) and so far I have 4 seedlings. This gives me about 3 weeks before my last frost date and no hardening off. I still have my stand-by tomatoes grown under lights indoors which I will have to start hardening off after May 6. It will be interesting to see the difference in the plants and their production.

P.S. Tiffy, you were also doing an experiment. Any results?
