Is it too late experts?

I live in Zone 4a and we are still getting snow/sleet these days. Is it possible to winter sow anything now?

I've been reading and it sounds so exciting. I hardly have any window space for starting annuals and this sounds like my solution. I have lots of room outdoors.

Could I possibly start with some marigolds or something?
