Don't worry Tiffy, you're in good company!!! I still have cone flower, dark-eyed susans, coreopsis, shasta daisy, baby hostas, rose campion and verbascum to plant out. The beds I expected to make have not materialized because the area I was planning to use is filled with wood from our felled silver maple.I am waiting to plant them in the areas now occupied by my annuals. I also recently spotted a pot of parsley that has not been planted out, and a 4-inch pot filled with ground cherry seedlings, 2 of which which have flowered and fruited!!! I still have a few months to get that done. I have been known to be planting peonies at the end of October.

I am sooo relieved! I was sure I was the only one with containers still hanging arond - luckily no annuals!! Last year, it was October, and I was standing around wondering where to plant suff, when I finally had to say to myself: "plant it somewhere - ANYWHERE - before the snow comes!!!"

I'm so glad to hear Anna (in zone 4!) was still planting stuff out in October :) I have a TON of plants to move, and I was worried about getting it all done by the end of September. I will try, but life gets in the way sometimes! ;)

Aaah... I feel better already. Must say that some of those containers are coming in handy even this late in the season. Needed fillers for a garden I just rearranged and those Yellow Columbines fit the bill!

The Oriental Poppies went in another bed which I just expanded, and I think I'll put those Echinaceas in the 1/2 whiskey barrels I got this past summer. See how hardy those little buggers are, eh? :)

I am so glad to hear there are others scurrying to plant leftovers.
Lets hope the weather stays balmy 'cause I am looking to get planted last years pots plus this years!! Containers I put into a plunge bed last fall have grown into the sand!
Still have Hollyhock, Dianthus, Echiums, Echinacea, Clematis, Ornamental grasses, Daylilies, Geraniums, Liatrus(supposed to be white but bloomed lavender!)and several Climbing Hydrangea to find places for!
I'm so overcrowded for space that I am digging out overgrown plants & unwanteds in order to put these babies in.
I wouldn't want to bet with anyone that I'd clean up before the snow flies!
