Hello everyone, I'm new here and very much enjoy reading your messages.

Here's my question(s). I have two different types of pitcher plants in hanging moss baskets. They are big and very healthy but getting kind of "leggy". In that there is a lot of stem coming out of the ground before the growth starts. I'd like to encourage growth at the base. Do I have to cut back the healthy growth in order to do that? I will if I have to, although I kind of hate to do it, since they look so nice in all other respects. Is there any alternative to cutting it back severely? And if I do need to do it that way, how close to the soil can I get? And finally what is the best time of year to do it?
