If you can pour them into some sort of pan or dish, some of them might make it. Tadpoles are amazing creatures and get all sorts of emergency signals which cause them to speed up or switch to carnivore meals (become canibals) in times of environmental stress. I would find a weedy section of the lake and pour them in.

We raised some in a gold fish bowl before. My son took them to school and they watched them for a time and then turned them loose when they got their back legs.

Thanks for the comments. I do know that if the temperatures get really high, the tadpoles will not survive out in those buckets. But, I am going to try to save the next batch. I found a frog trapped in a bucket yesterday and took it out...sides of the bucket were too tall for him to jump out. I must have been Bhuddist in a previous life. They don't kill anything, even a fly. Now, if I can just keep the ants out of my produce on the kitchen counter!!
