The best you can give it is sunlight, but if you need to have it indoors, here you have a good link: http://www.sarracenia.com/faq/faq3020.html
I recommend that youi read "about light quality" and "about light intensity"
Hope that it is useful.

Outside is best.

I stopped answering posts asking about growing these indoors. People just won't listen. They have to learn the hard way I guess Same with Sarrs.

T5 Fluorescents are the best but they are also expensive.
T12 Sunstick or ott-lite will work. You can get away with 2 T5s but you will need 4 T12s to get the intensity you need. Keep your plants as close to the lights as possible without touching them.

I have 5 VFTs inside under 4 T8s. They really need to go outside but this is a special case -- 2 of them are the size of my thumbnail (and thus won't be going outside this year), the other 3 I brought in a few days away from apparent rhizome death.

Here are the plants:

Gold Strike

Red Pirahna

Those are in 3 inch pots. They're SMALL.

Typical, Dente, and Akai Ryu (aka Red Dragon):

These 3 are doing better. Dente has a good trap coming up, Typical has 3 or 4 coming up (I think it needs division), and even Akai Ryu has a small and sickly looking trap coming up.

I think in a few weeks I'll try taking the pot of 3 plants out again, once they have 4-6 traps each growing out and well. I believe it's the temperatures at night (low 30s) that hurt them.

The plants really are outdoor plants and really need full sunlight -- but if you absolutely HAVE to grow them indoors, hitting 10k-15k Lumiens should do it -- full sunlight is anything over 32k, 15k is an overcast day. 4 T8 Bulbs seemed to work for me and didn't cost too much. ($40 for the mount kit, $12 for the lights, $80 for the shelf, give or take.)
