If you pot it in an African violet self watering pot, that will help. They like damp feet but are prone to root rot, you can try a one part peat, to two parts perlite mix. Mine is doing well in that. Also if it gets to dry or not enough sun it will go dormant and slow down in growth. It will also stop catching bugs almost entirely, which is OK. You don't need to feed it. Sunlight and pure water are the most important things for it, bugs are just fertilizer. Hope this helps!

To Tiffany_loves_plants.....I've tried to send an email to you, but couldn't. So, I hope you're reading this...thank you for your help and information on my butterwort. Will try to locate an African Violet self watering pot. Am using distilled water now. Wasn't sure on the bugs, but thought as much.
