N. merrilliana and its hybrids grow slowly but when they are right size to produce a good sized pitcher they do and they are fascinating. N. insignis is also a huge pitcher, I would say almost as large as merrilliana and this hybrid has potential of getting huge. This better be grown on a bench or shelf as this one would prefer to rest its pitchers on a solid surface.
Alata x truncata grows like a weed. Depending on the alata form, expect long tubular pitchers about a foot on the average and lots of them. Lots of light as alatas like sun! This will grow very well in a hanging basket with good lighting to keep the leaves compact.

What about nepenthes Esther? These are all hybrids from Leilani. And will either of the above Hybrids be okay with several hours of sun a day? I grow mine in a windosill, until I have a greenhouse, it is a south facing window, if it doesn't like direct sun then I will just hang it above the window where it gets indirect light, at least until the pitchers get too massive to hang there. I also heard that N. Insignis can grow some amazing uppers.

Is the alata parent in St. Conrad Lowland? I need to know which would be easier to grow. I will be buying one of the three, more than likely this week.

Anything with alata grows like a weed. It makes N. Ventrata grow much fuller than a plain ventricosa. The insignis parent will produced large pitchers with age. Hopefully a colored parent would make attractive giant pitchers, as insignis is rather plain-dull.

I am very excited! I am about to order my plant, I am going to buy the St. Conrad. And since I've learned the good in fertilizing, it will be grownig big and like a weed in no time! I wish I just had the money to buy both of the plants! it is going to be beautiful! A ventricosa cutting I recently gave to a freind (for money!) ia growing six inch pitchers on it, because of fertilizing!

I ordered my plant last night. Turns out I had enough money to buy, not just St. Conrad, but also N. Fusca(Kinabalu)! I can't wait! I wonder what a hybrid between N. Fusca x (Alata x Truncata) would look like?! I am excited.

Got my two plants today! They are amazing! the fusca has a six-seven inch pitcher on it! and my St. Conrad has Four pitchers on it. I believe Leilani can expect future purchases from me!
