Could it be that is dormancy?

This is a pattern that I am seeing in all of them. I see the largest growing point eventually stops growing while other small growing points continue to grow.

All of the plants are actually growing new pitchers, but on two of them the largest growing points have stopped.

May be this is something people do not notice. Since the plant continues to grow pitchers, perhaps many people do not notice that the largest growing point has stopped.

If it is normal for cephalotus plants to grow large pitchers, then go back to smaller ones before growing large ones again, then I know why. The large growing points of the plant die out, and the young growing points then become the largest.

I have not seen this growing point termination with my Cephs. Mine have done much better under fluorescent lights, and used to just die away without artificial lights. Could it be a problem of insufficient light that you are experiencing?

No, they have a lot of light. they get suntan with the light they have.

I can't help witth the problem .Was considering trying them once since I live in 10 also . Couldn't pin anybody down on the need for dormancy with Cephalotus
Noted that Albany Austalia has a very similar climate to 10 florida ,reversed of course. Several hours of below freezing temps but mainly frosts Sounds like some type of dormancy though obviously a short one ?? gary
