You should definatly consider Getting either one of these two:

1)Pinguicula Sethos

or

2)Drosera Capensis

Either one of these wonderful plants, will work well for you.

My Lanceleaf sundews catch lots of gnats. They are easy to find in most Lowe's or Home Depots.

Basically, just about any sundew or butterwort is a good candidate for fruit flies. I've been known to take a container and place rotting fruit in it. Eventually, the fruitflies infest the fruit. I tap the container an the fruitflies jettison, many of them getting stuck on sundews and butterworts. D. adelae, D. binata, D. capensis, and any butterwort are great.

I find that Drosera will certainly help, but probably not get rid of all of them. My Nepenthes alata has recently been eating small flies, too (though that may be because it can't find anything bigger!)

While the plants will eat a bunch of them they won't eliminate them .Ever heard the expression "Breed like flies?' lol I raise the flies on purpose to feed the frogs
and have yet to run out.
Besides their reproductive rate another amazing thing about them is the sense of smell. Peel a banana and start a stopwatch. I've had them appear in as little as 30 seconds.lol If you have a source of food you WILL have fruitflies. gary

Quite by coincidence I brought a small pitcher plant from Florida when I moved to North Carolina. I kept it outside in the muggy weather to help it thrive ( until the squirrel tried 3 times to destroy it). I brought it inside and set the potted plant on top of the composter. No more fruitfly infestation, one happy pitcher plant, I feel a lot better about kitchen composting!
