You know how you're stuck on the outdoor plant deal that this probably wont last through the winter but if you had grew it in a terrarium over the winter it would do very well wo dormancy? This plant is very young and too young(probably) to survive dormancy? I applaud you if it survives but don't think it will.

Good luck with that, Tommy (not that you need it). I just got my first one, too. Mine's staying outside. I think there's a good chance the temps here will approximate the native habitat. Keeping it properly hydrated will be the challenge.

Taz I am NOT a fan of terrariums. This is a 3 year old plant, I believe it needs dormancy. One or 2 year maybe not but at this point it may need it. I emailed California Carnivores (where I got it from) for their advice to see if it's been going through dormancy before I got it.

I would keep it on the window sill or under artificial lighting until mid-spring and then take it outside.

Just got a note from Peter Amato at California carnivores. He said to put them to bed for the winter. Treat them like sarrs right now, and mine are in the fridge. I'll keep a sharp eye on the little guy for now. They are 3 years old. If they were a year or 2 I would have left them out.

Can't wait until late December when I can finally sow some seed!

I defer to Mr. D'Amato! I didn't think a TC plant would be in synch with reality yet.

LOL! Well, I am just assuming at it's age it wants it. He seemed to agree. I hope we're right!
