It will decline until it dies if you continue to avoid dormancy. If you are in Nebraska it should already be dormant.

Same thing happens to my vfts. I have them outside where they get several hours of direct sun daily, but they're also shaded part of the time due to "movement" of the sun. They catch lots of flies but always lose the red color in their traps. My drosera and sars do fine with the same amount of light.

Mine have been red since early summer. They get sun all day.

They are more burgundy now but a lot of dead leaves and traps and almost ready for the frige.

Yeah, vfts are not houseplants. Give 'em full sun.

sdcps Oh I could grow them inside and have done it, but why, when they are dormant or should be during winter? We have a good growing season here normally. I would grow them inside during winter if not dormant or if just a seedling.
