Brugs will root in just about anything it seems, at least the mature cuttings. I have problems with green cuttings and am actually trying air layering with them now. If you are rooting a mature brug cutting you can often see the beginning of roots within a couple days.

Washed river sand is all I use for cuttings and seedlings,rare that they don't strike for me .I also live in the tropics which helps...I've only started collecting Angels for 4 months and have lost count how many I have now.We are limited here with variety but a few of us a buying lots of seeds from the States and Europe, so very soon we'll have loads of colours...

I have never used sand for seeds. Will you explain to me who your do that? Do you use 6 pack trays or regular pots?
