Hi I have tried several ways ro root clemantis,But the easiest,way I found is with the fish bubbler,it really works,You have to take new cuttings and cut off the bottom leaves put in a jar put in the bubbler,it takes a couple months,But people on here passed this info to me,Marcella

The bottom line is that Clematis are not easy plants to successfully take cuttings from and ship for trades.

This is how I did it. I get a 4-6 inch pot with damp potting soil and set it next to the host plant. Take a green vine, scrap a little off of the side place the scrapped part facing down on the soil, put soil on top,(you might want to put something on top of it to keep it in the soil in the pot). keep the soil damp. Wait about a month or two until roots develop and then cut off from parent plant. The cuttings bloomed two years later.

Dang!!! that is cool I will try that next spring. As for the bubbler thing I will try that this fall.
