Not pretty

Well, this is the second flush of Pink Perfektion, and I know Edna got some nice blossoms on her plant recently, but these are just plain deformed!! It does bloom, unlike some other doubles I won't name here but you know, blooming isn't everything in this case! LOL!

Looks similar to mine - when she bloomed at the old place! :) She hasn't bloomed here at the new place yet - but soon! Maybe she'll do a little better!

I love it even with the deformity. Thanks for posting, I will add it to my wish list.

They look so sad. Mine has buds but none have opened yet, I hope they don't look like that. Maybe they will be better next year. My Desiree last year had mostly stuffed skirts & this year not one, they all dropped open perfectly. Daydreams had lots of good & a couple not quite pretty flowers last year & this year it was all triples & one quad.

That looks an awful lot like the recent blooms on one of my Day Dreams. It was strange because the others looked nothing like that. All the plants were grown from cuttings taken from the same plant but are planted in different parts of my yard. The odd blooms had 3 and 4 skirts but all were somewhat deformed. I don't know if it was the location or maybe the weather that caused such significant differences?

I will say that they certainly are not as pretty as some doubles and triples I've seen, but at least they do have more than one skirt. I'd even be happy with a deformed double or triple bloom considering I paid for some and have yet to see any blooming doubles are triples on my place......yes, I'll take some cheese with all my whinning.

Freaky, It look as if it's trying to have a baby! You ladies can laugh, I am just being honest.

Sorry but I have to agree, it is finky looking, lol. I took this one off my want list a while ago after I seen how it can get. I do like how deep the color can get though. Does salmon perfektion get deformed like this?

Shawn, so far, the few blossoms I have off Mon Amor de Murieul are not deformed, just few and far between. Regarding Salmon Perfektion, ask me by Wed. That one and Adeline are finally, finally about to bloom- one bud on each has actually stuck on the plant and have pushed thru the calyx. Daydreams, forget it, must be in a bad location!

Yes, I'm not sure why PP was registered. Even in the best shots, it is deformed. Now, it does have some of the most intense pink I've seen on a brug- the fact that it is shiny makes the pink deeper. Deep hot pink. So it would be good to hybridize with this one to get even a single pink in that color.

Brenda, I did have a few "good" blooms. But I am still having some with that "alien" look. Day Dreams has been really pretty, and Wildwood Romance has been pretty, and not many deformed ones. Naughty Nick is a looker. I would think in the next week or so, with this great cool weather, if PP doesn't have nice blooms, she never will. what do you think ?

I don't know, Edna. Are you willing to bring her in for the winter and try again next year? Some folks are saying their brugs settled down the following year. I just think the best photo is sometimes posted of a variety, and that is used to represent the whole plant and blooming season. I'm not saying that happened with PP but seems like alot are deformed more, rather than giving us what we thought we were getting!

Brenda, I have to agree. Some of the pictures make you drool, and then when mine blooms, it looks that ones "sick sister"... The pictures you see of PP are certainly not representative of what I have, neither color or shape ..LOL. Phanomenal is another one. I had one tiny flush, great blooms, but so few. The plant is a monster size and drops pods like crazy ! I could go on and on.. but I'll shut up..LOL
