My first clematis.

18 years ago

I got a clematis last summer, and put it in a great little spot with it's very own trellis. I was wondering if it doesn't usually bloom much the first year. I got maybe one bloom, and then it freakishly bloomed two blooms after a frost.

Am I doing something wrong, or can I expect more blooms next year?

Also, do I cut it down to just about nothing this spring?
