indoor plant question...

I have a clematis I received in January as a bareroot in trade, it is now growing, maybe a foot long, should I pinch it back? It is soon going to outgrow it's place under lights. I can post a picture if need be, also it is a sweet autumn clematis, if that helps.

Gerry..yes keep pinched back as you want it to focus on the roots and not growing vine..do you plan on planting it out in the garden?...Jeanne

Thank you for the info. I do intend to plant it out, just can't do that yet as we still have snow. Soon I hope.

Gerry..If it's just a bareroot...I would keep it in the one gallon pot and wouldn't plant it directly into the garden until you see roots coming out of the bottom..this is the most crucial time as it needs to stay moist and grow a big healthy root system...Jeanne
