I am getting ready to start pruning my clematis in a couple of weeks, and plan to mulch them with aged horse compost. I would like some advice on fertilizing - have heard rose or tomato/vegetable fertilizer is good - but not sure what to do and would appreciate any advice. I admire photos of these huge, gorgeous clematis covered in blooms and want to know how to care for mine so they will someday look like this. Thanks!
