Cool. It would be interesting to be able to attend such a talk. That is one of the advantages to being in the PNW. Our area nurseries would never have such a well known garden expert in for a talk and the availability of clematis locally leaves much to be desired.

I googled the book and came up with the link below. It appears the Evison will also be visiting a book store in the Portland area to promote his book. Would be cool to get a copy and have it autographed!

Karen, it's going to be at Sky Nursery in Shoreline and the date is April 5th. I think I'd plan to get there early :-)) I don't have the book yet but will pick it up there - they have a large book section/library - or at the Flower and Garden show.

I've got a great collection of gardening books on a wide range of topics that I've been fortunate to have signed by the authors. It doesn't impress anyone but me, but it gives me a little thrill every time I open one and remember the occasion and I hope some of their passion and knowledge rubs off. The latest was Michael Dirr, who I met at a nursery industry trade show last fall and was fortunate to have an extended conversation with. He's a great plantsman and a real character and since we both tend to be very opinionated, we hit it off!!

That is awesome. I have a lot of rose books autographed by the authors but none of my clematis books are. It would be nice to hear his talk. We rarely have any decent clematis sold at the nurseries here much less a nursery who would sponsor an expert coming to give a talk.

Don't miss his lectures, he's a fabulous speaker and knows Clematis for North American gardens very well. He spoke in Toronto last week & I understand he's part of the Horticulture Magazine speaker series. You should be able to find the dates on their site.
