Don't you hate it when this happens.

You wait anxiously for a brug to bloom, only to be disappointed because it doesn't look like what it was suppose to be. And especially when you pay good money for it. It doesn't look like the pictures of it that I have seen on the web.

I planted a cutting of what I thought was "Pink Beauty", but it doesn't look like that. At least to me it doesn't. The bloom is a very pale pink color, I thought it should be darker pink. Also the flower's shape doesn't look the same. I don't detect any fragrance.

Otherwise it is very healthy and growing well. It had the fastest most vigorous upright growth of all the 4 that I planted there. And it is the tallest with the most blooms.

Would the fact that it is in a very sunny warm spot change the color and make it lighter?

Clare YUPP! Also as they have their second flush it darkens. But the heat and sun could be a factor

But I just googled Pink Beauty and the tendrils are much longer then yours. Also your flower is all the way out of the calyx.

Looks like you got a NOID...a pretty pink NOID.

Where did you buy your brug?

Ha!!!! Finally something that I (me, myself) know being such a newbie here on the forum.
A NOID is a "No"- "Id". No identification. They don't know what it is. What the latin word for it is, what its description is.
Ha! I'm just sooo proud of myself that I finally knew something that I could pass on. I thought I was totally useless on this forum!!

I have had two this year turn up NOID.
But she's pretty!

Please read my thread to the bitter end, would ya?
I want to report the following:
I am sure that by now, me being a newby, I've gotten on everybody's nerves regarding my brug:
I bought a Candia Double White. Its blooms were gorgeous, I want to say voluptious!! and I'm not kidding. Then the great heat wave came about Souther California and my plant dropped most of its new buds. But a few more buds developed into blooms, say maybe 12 altogether.
And guess what: All the new blooms from this second "flush" are no longer DOUBLES. They are just SINGLES.
How is this possible??? What is gonna happen next year???

(Why do I deserve such a disappointment??? eh, this is supposed to be a joke...)

The pink is still pretty, even if it is a NOID.

That's really disappointing when a double turns single, maybe one of the experts can help.

Ok, here's mine..

So excited when I saw my first bud on my first brug. Looked at it every day. It dropped down and started to open, then turned brown. Now it's done and never even opened. awwwww....

Well, there are three more buds, so I still have hope. We don't get frost for two months.
