Yes, they were sent in Nov 07, and germinated in June 08. I brought them inside in the basement for the winter. I have my shelves pretty full already, so if this Fall's clematis seeds start germinating before Spring, I'm gonna be in trouble. Have rose cuttings I started (for the 1st time), daylily seedlings started, calla lily seeds growing, and several clematis seedlings from last summer. I can see a little color (purple, I think)on the back of the flower bud. Will post a pic once it opens.

I'm excited, we're going to Calgary this July to visit my daughter, see some of the Stampede, and to visit several garden centres.

Just lovely Joan. Now you know what you have to look forward to this summer but multiplied several times over as far as blooms go. I too am curious if it has any scent.

Yeah, I know what you mean. All my grow light space is now taken up with seedlings so if any more germinate soon, I am going to be up a creek with no paddle. The only good thing is that is has been near 70 for the past few days so the babies have been outside soaking up the natural light.

Funny, I never think to smell my flowers to see if there is any scent, so had to go down to the basement to see. I don't detect any scent, but I didn't at first with my BC either, and did on later blooms. Maybe once it grows up a little more I will. Pretty pleased with it anyway.

My texensis seedlings are not very vigorous though.

Then just wait a while Joan and then resmell. Of course, it may just be that the plant is still too young to produce fragrance.

Texensis is a heat loving clematis so don't expect much with seedlings inside unless you have a very warm room.

I still can't detect anything today, but it does seem to have more color. I lost my other photo editing program, and I can't seem to made these pics clear. Of course maybe I just need some lessons on how to operate the camera. lol

It does seem more highly colored in your most recent pictures Joan. I am sure that producing blooms on such a juvenile plant may be a strain on the plant's resources. Perhaps as it matures, it will have more resources to produce fragrance.

Most cameras now a days have a macro for closeups. I know I have to use my newer camera which has such a macro to get closeups. The older camera has no such macro and if you get too close, you can never get the closeups in focus.

I do have a macro setting on my camera, but I find when I use it it distorts the colors and lighting. This is about the best I can do.

Is it similar in coloring to the Mother plant Miguel ? How long does it bloom for you? Tell what to expect this summer.

Yours appears to be more blue in color than my plant although I will admit that the blooms on mine are variable at different times of the growing season--darker in the spring and lighter later in the summer. This may simply be that they get more bleached out in the summer and I tend not to notice them until after they have been in flower later in the season.

Bloomwise, mine has a reasonably large flush early on and then smaller intermittent cycles throughout the growing season. It would probably bloom more if I weren't letting the seeds stay on there until they were ripe so that I could harvest them. Can't really give any any prognostication as to what yours will do this summer since it is a smaller plant, but you should be pleased in future years as it settles in and matures.
