use a brush to paint the weedkiller on to the dandelions.
or just keep cutting the dandelions and making salads.

Round Up is not active in soil.

You can cut the bottom out of a liter pop jug or plastic milk jug to use as a shield and spray down the neck.

Using a brush or wetting plastic gloves in Round Up and wiping on the leaves is also an option.

I know it is frustrating. I have some dandilions coming up in awkward places too.

Theresa..Personally, if it was me..I'd rather you give me a lashing with a wet noodle than apply ANY POISON around my Clems..I have some Dandelions come up around mine and just pinch the tops out..place some newspaper around it..add a layer of composted cowmanure and my mulch and the lack of sunlight will kill those buggers off!!...Jeanne

I usually use round up, but had a bad experience trying to eradicate bermuda grass growing in my mondo grass. I did 'paint' the bermuda grass with round up, but it still would up killing a lot of the mondo grass.

This spring I dug up the mondo grass and pulled out all the bermuda. It was time to divide the mondo anyway.....

Or you can try one of those weed poppers, they work great on weeds with long roots.

I have decided to dig it up and move it. The dandelions roots and top growth are growing up through the middle of it so there is no way to smother it or pluck it out with a weed popper. It was a mis-named item that I bought at Wal-mart many years ago and this year I am going to take a picture of the flowers to see if I can identify it. It is a vitacella and a flower machine so I do not want to lose it. I transplanted it last year to where it is now and it done awesome and I got 2 long bloom periods so I will move it again and go through the roots and pull out the dandelions. What really iritates me to no end is I spend alot of money on my yard to keep it weed free and nice and my lovely neighbors let them weeds grow and flower, and to keep them out of my yard, I litteraly have to go over into their yard and weed when they are not home. Or when they go out there with a lawn mower once a month, millions of those seeds fly everywhere. They are lazy and I am glad they are moving.

we have one of those neighbors. But most of them are ok. We started using a lawn service for weed and feed, and now everyone else is using it. It does make a difference. I just wish they could weed my flower beds too.

I think your neighbors must have moved in on both sides of me, ice angel. Where do you live in Wyo? My daughter lives there, and I'm sure would love to see your yard if you are anywhere close to her. She is an awesome gardener and has a beautiful yard. Of course she learned it all from me-ha. On a more serious note, When I get a dandelion growing in a plant, I soak it good. They will pull out a lot easier if they are good and wet. I usually wiggle my fingers around until I feel the crown, and then pull.
