I've put my Clivia in a cool room with very shaded southern light, which in any case wouldn't be a problem this far north (Montreal) this time of year. My question is whether Clivias are sensitive to the length of the day (the room gets indirect light during the day) like say Christmas Cactuses, or is it more the coolness that will trigger flowering. thanks. Joe

Mine are outside, and this year the bloom is about a month earllier than last year. I don't think the light has changed, but it was (until this week) a little cooler this year. This leads me to think that it may be more temperature related, but let's see what other indoor growers have to say.

They are not daylength sensitive - just need a cool period to trigger bloom.
