Rooguchi's blossum are much bigger and darker and it blooms longer for me than Betty. Rooguchi in my garden gets 6-8 feet tall where as Betty gets about 15'tall. Rooguchi always gets powdery mildew every summer but Betty doesn't. They are very different looking plants and both are worth growing.

Thanks so much for your reply. Given the large number of roses my husband has, I think I will probably be staying away from the Rooguchi since it gets powdery mildew, as I assume that can be passed onto the roses (or am I incorrect about that?). Plus, I am not crazy about the looks of powdery mildew and thing that would bother me enough not to plant the Rooguchi, although it looks like an absolutely beautiful flower. Many thanks, Linda

Their form is also very different. Betty Corning is a climber, Rooguchi isn't.

BTW, Betty Corning is fragrant. Unusual for a Clemmie. I can't wait until mine is as big as the one at the garden where I purchased it.
