I checked my clems yesterday, and two of the three have buds now too! Yay! It is their second year also. The three are Crystal Fountain, Josephine, and Franziska Marie. Of the three, though, only Josephine and Crystal Fountain have buds on them. I hope Franziska Marie will return. I will be planting 3 more clems in spring too. I've got buds on my Jackmanni, however, I will be cutting it way back once the last freeze happens.
I have three other clematis that I pruned in the fall, but nothing happening to those yet.
