I kept my first clematis in the garage all winter since it was tiny and half dead when I bought it on clearance, lol. I had forgot about it pretty much and looked in on it to water it one day and it had new growth so I thought oh good it didn't die then a few days later I came home and checked on it and it was blooming! I fell in love then. Now for the question. I have been reading that I should have cut it down. The growth is pretty pale green and thin. Should I cut it back now since I am going to take it outside soon or leave it alone? Here is a pic.
