Get them into a cold area, around 40-50 degrees, and water them like once during the winter period. :) Give them water until it gets really cool.

That's great for you, up north, but I'm in FL, where it rarely gets below freezing. I need instructions for here. One person said to just leave it outside and stop watering it. Another said to fertilize it in September and October and then stop watering it. It isn't even nearly cold enough here in October. Rarely gets down to 50's during the day, but does get to the 40's at night. I really do need someone who knows how to grow them in Florida.

Dirty, I am in Panama City, Fl. and mine are planted directly in the ground. I do absolutely NOTHING to them. They get watered when the sprinklers hit them or it rains. During our few days of really cold weather, I put 5-gallon buckets over them.

They are planted behind a couple of Camellia shrubs, so the leaves fall around them and decay, but that's the extent of their fertilizer.

Mother Nature takes care of them and they bloom nicely each year. I have a yellow one, however, that hasn't bloomed yet - I've had it about 4 years, so maybe next year!
