Tom, I've seen "Eugenie" Clematis and found a few references doing a Google search. Searching for "Imperatrice Eugenie" resulted in information about a Passiflora.

I did find one reference for the Clematis you are looking for but it had no picture. :-(

I too found the University of Hull website which I am told is the pre-eminent index of clems. No luck there.

A friend recently asked me are you sure it's Imperatrice Eugenie since another clem from the same order years ago ended up being Huldine, which I never ordered.

Oh well, once she (?) blooms, I'll post a pic and see if anyone salutes.
