Osmocote formula?
I just finished off the bag of 14-14-14 Osmocote Classic and thought before I buy another 50# bag, I would like some suggestions.
?How is 14-14-14 Osmocote for feeding Citrus? That's what I've been using with a light scattering of Epson Salt every time I fertilize. This month was the first I cleaned up the ground and trees and fertilized with this 14-14-14 since last fall.
As far as flowering and fruit go, it has been mostly unpredictable. The first year -- four years ago, my Clementine and Meyer were absolutely prolific; this year there are lots of blossoms (unlike the past 3 years). Watering has been my biggest concern.
I am still trying to get a 'feel' for what is best and trying to stay ahead of the fungus and insects/scale.Approximate measurements are: about 8 feet high, roots are stretching to about 4 feet, trunks about 8 inches around.
The soil here is sandy down to about a few feet to mostly gray clay and some hard pan round about deeper than the clay. When I planted, I dug as deep and as wide as I could -- spending a couple hours digging and adding the sandy soil, mixed with about half the volume with aged manure and some perlite.
Thanks for your help in the past...you all are great! I just started using alchohol to clean the leaves, and spraying with Fish Emulsion and resisting the temptation to water as much as I used to.
